By advocating for sustained funding, thoracic surgeons can actively contribute to groundbreaking research and enhanced patient care.
Priorities
- Preserve and support healthcare research funding for federal agencies: including, but not limited to, Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), and the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
- Advocating for cardiothoracic specific programs: including the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) at the NIH.
