Manuscript reviewers for The Society of Thoracic Surgeons’ official journal, The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, may claim 3 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ per review.

The Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The STS designates this manuscript review activity for a maximum of 3 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Please submit only one request per manuscript. Manuscript reviews are rated on a scale of 1-5. Qualifying ratings are 3, 4, or 5, and these values are assigned based on the following criteria: adherence to reviewer guidelines; specificity and accuracy; completeness; usefulness of recommendations; internal consistency; tone; and mindfulness of the needs of the surgical community.

To claim credit for manuscript review, complete the information below and submit. Request forms should be submitted in the same calendar year the review was completed. A request form will be approved for CME credit if all of the following criteria are met: a review rating of 3, 4, or 5 and on-time submission of a review of a qualifying manuscript type (ie, new Original Article). Reviews of any other manuscript types (eg, case reports) or revisions of any manuscript type do not qualify.
