We’re just days away from the 2024 STS Annual Meeting in San Antonio. It’s sure to be an outstanding conference and I look forward to being together again. Before we convene, I wanted to flag a few key projects, programs, and events in the hope that you will add them to your meeting schedule.
First, I’m pleased to announce that the STS inaugural STS Compensation Survey is finalized and will be available to purchase in early February (those who participated in the survey will receive a complimentary copy of the report). A presentation by Dr. Michael Mack, chair of the compensation survey task force, will highlight key takeaways from the survey on Saturday, January 27, at 3 p.m.
I also want to encourage members to stop by STS’ The Hub, a new and exciting space for programs, training sessions, networking opportunities, and mentoring specifically designed for cardiothoracic surgery trainees and early surgeons. Leaders in CT surgery, including members of the STS Board of Directors, Workforces, and Task Forces, will be seated with trainees to discuss topics of interest to residents.
Below are some additional programs I hope you will add to your calendars...

Over the past year, it’s been an honor to serve as President of this great Society and to get an up close and personal view of all the STS does to serve all of you. STS is our advocate, our convener, our news and information resource, and so much more.
Safe travels and see you in San Antonio!
